    • According to the last two digits of my SSN, I'll be getting the check sometime after July 4.

Most of the rebate will likely be spent on gas; the remainer, on food and ammunition.

I like to fondle and feel the check and run it through my fingers before depositing it. A direct deposit is too cold, clinical and impersonal.

    • According to the IRS website, based on the last two digits of my SSN I was supposed to have received an "economic stimulus payment" check a few days after July 4.

Well, it's three weeks after that date, and still no check. So I went on their website and discovered that not all taxpayers were eligible for the payment. A handy-dandy calculator on the website was available to determine eligibility, so I plugged in some numbers from my 2007 tax return; the calculator digested all the information--and concluded that I was not eligible for the economic stimulus payment because my adjusted gross income was "too high."

What the farking fark???? I thought all taxpayers were eligible for the damn payment!! Farking IRS... hope those bastards burn in hell!  icon_mad.gif icon_mad.gif icon_mad.gif icon_mad.gif

Nope. According to the IRS website, you get the full rebate amount up until the $75,000 AGI level. Above that, the rebate amount progressively decreases until zero.

Blardy IRS... penalizing taxpayers for being successful at their jobs. Guess I'm going to have to find some way to reduce my 2008 tax liabiity by $500 to "make up" for their stupidity.
