Yah, Chee may make errors. Like every other normal human beings do. But LKY tell lies to his people! Which is a No-No!

I didn't know that having ERP can slow down vehicles leh. And even if there will be congestions, all vehicles will be travelling at a very slow speed. the chances of having an accident will be very very low.
I never know that our government is so "concerned" for our safety leh! Wah... so damn proud and grateful of them!
Ha... if safety was a concern on KPE, they should not have built it. Want us to pay and get killed? Damn PAP!

when you guys attend a chinese wedding, do you label your names on the red packets? i mean like normally when you arrive, you'll go to the reception area, sign in and drop your red packets into those collection boxes, do you actually label your names at the back of the red packets?
no one actually taught me to do that... but i was questioned by my friend who got married and she accused me of not giving a red packet for her wedding banquet... she said she searched the boxes but didn't found my name and she had difficulties answering to her husband who was disappointed that one of her friends turned up without a red packet. she asked if i labelled my red packet and i was quite surprised... i said no and i told her that no one ever taught me to label my name, even my mum didn't taught me that...
she also said that it's not the money part but as a significance of congratulation... i did include a photoframe which i gave her during the wedding dinner but she said she was disappointed that i gave her that only... she also mentioned that the wedding dinner was very expensive and asked for my understanding. (it was at Raffles Hotel and i did dropped in a red packet without my name labelled behind plus the photoframe)
then she claimed that all her guests labelled their red packets so next time, when my friend attends their weddings, she will know how much to put inside the "ang pow".
i would like to ask if it's a practice to label your red packets for weddings... cos' i was not taught so...
Your friend does not have the sincerity to invite you. Its so meaningless when they invite you to their wedding just hoping you'll give them ang pows. I thought ang pows should be given from the heart and not upon request?I do have a similar occasion.
While in NS, my platoon sergeant invited the whole company to his wedding dinner. But months before the dinner, he requested to collect part of the ang pow money from us. And he really go to each bunk to collect $40 from his men, joting down the names of those already made the "1st payment" in a small notebook!
And he said that those who had made the "1st payment", need to given another $20 on the actual day as a full payment. Which makes it $60 in total. And those already given $60 in "1st payment", can give a few more dollars on the actual day.
He claimed that he needed money to pay for his wedding down payment!
Wah, this kind of people ah... made his wedding truly meaningless!
As for me, i just gave him $40 and did not attend his wedding cos i was clearing ORD leave.

Maybe less people should be involved in NS. Its just basically working for the govt with low pay unless they sign on. My views may change if SG ever change their govt, no longer PAP.
And for girls to serve NS, you can see cases of peeping, outrage of modesty increases. And it will be a common scene when you see those hamsap enciks sent to DB.
True. Alot of my officers are good for nothing! Only know how to talk but don't know how to do. They visit those LSB even though they are married with children. When wife pays a visit, they pretended to be good husbands.
Pls save the girls from all these humilations!

Wah, to think that these losers , apart from using mouth job, they use hand jobs too!
They should just open their own gay massage parlour and not selling electronics. Haha....
3 against 1, sounds familiar right? Perhaps this was what they were thought in NS, 3 soldiers against 1 enemy.
No wonder.... loosers!
Guess their fathers is dickless and mother is a whore impregnate by other guys.
To TS, do your homework properly online. you can hack the PSP yourself when you've got enough info from the web. Dun let the matter rest too! They losers needs to be punished.

Referring to the words of LKY, he said that opposition parties would not have credible people to handle Singapore. The fact is that he did not give them a chance to do so.
But now Goh CK has his speech in the opposition's turf, from the report posted by TS, i feeled that he is demoralising the opposition party's confidence in handling hougang.
If he really succeed in doing that, he might win back PAP and this will proves LKY's words on no credible people in opposition party. Why don't he comment on his own PAP instead?
Its kind of a mind challenge. Downright despicable!

Somehow, i don't agree that when pap in trouble, Singapore will be in trouble.Firstly, PAP don't make up Singapore. They are just a bunch of leeches / bed bugs that suck you dry anytime of the day. The citizens are the one that makes up Singapore! Hence PAP != Singapore!
Secondly, when pap in trouble, we can still stand by ourselves. They are not a pillar of our support. We don't live on them. Instead, they live on us!
We should brand them as the World's greatest and infamous Xiao Bai Lian! 小白脸! Everytime want us to give them money to feed their greed. pui!

Frankly, I'm one of those "quitters" that Kilua is talking about, I'm in my mid 20s I served 10 years in the military. When my contract ended my OC did not even gave me enough days to find a job. Even though I spent days and night and lots of overtime, organizing NDP. All I asked for was some time off to be included in my leave to find jobs even that was impossible. Imagine my job hunt...
I shifted to Canada, in less than I year I landed a job in a bank with no prior training in financing, my earnings is almost equal to $35/hr. I work 35hrs a week, any overtime is 1.5times my pay.
I bought a cheap "old" car well less than 10 years for 5k, I pay no road tax, planning to get a Nissan Fairlady 350z for 25k. Singapore price with COE ($270k at least) I pay lower GST 5%. My fuel cost is $1.29/litre.
I'm getting a house that would be 2000 sq ft about the same price of a flat in Singapore like $350k. Have adouble garage, own little garden, two stories with basement. In Singpaore something similar would cost probably 3.5 million what about property tax?
Hmmm all this may seem superficial to many but you take a good look at that, if you have to spend the same amount of time, sweat and blood not saying your youth which would you prefer? I'm not sure... Canada... Yes everywhere may have its benefits and disadvantages, but after all that quarrel and backstabbing wouldn't you want more for the same amount of effort you put in?
Well I'm a quitter but I paid my dues to my country for 10 year so I think I'm entitled to live the best quality life I deserve and not slave for my whole life and get nothing out from it.
Well you decide for yourself for your own life and your offspring
Good for you! Not everybody can be like you. Glad you made the right choice.
I remembered when i was in BMT, i signed on RSAF senior tech. But the contract is flexible in a way that you can terminate it on the first 7 days. If u did it too late, you're consider having signed the contract and you cannot break the bond.
In the end, i made the right choice to terminate the contract within the first 7 weeks. Else, i'd still be in NS, wasting my time away...

In a sense, people leaving are quitters. They either didn't strive to change the country, or was waiting for someone else to do it. . If you tried, and it didn't work, than no point forcing the issue like banging your head on the wall. You can go around the wall, by migrating. Don't see anything wrong with that. But for the youngster, they haven't even tried changing the country, and they are just giving up by migrating. Or they expecting someone else to do something about it.
Don't give up so easily, do something about it.
If you're only a small employee in your company. And you dislike the way your company manages you. Would you try to change it? Do you have the power to change it?
Of course you'll quit (resign) and look for a better company right?

After reading so much from forumers here, i've actually looked at a further sight.
Its not more of selling organs, religion issues etc.
How much will a kidney cost? Those who really want to have new kidneys replacement, do you think they can afford it? So, does money transaction only comes between the seller and buyer? Or there is a middle man in between the seller and buyer that draws commission from the trade? Is the govt thinking of becoming the middle man? Earn money from the buyer as well as the seller?
Secondly, i remembered LHL once said in last yr National day rally. He claimed that life expectancy for our people is getting longer and longer. We can live more than 80yrs old. With his words, he deemed annualities compulsory and you can only get back your money after you're 82 while you started paying at 62! And when you die before maturity, the premiums you've spent on annualities will go into the pool of annualities for others that are still living. You cannot even take back the money nor pass it on to your younger generations.
And one forumer said that in India, kidney donors / seller experienced health deteroration after removing their kidney. So, if the country legalised the kidney / organ trading, that means kidneys seller will not live long. So, does it means that donors will keep on paying the annualities but will not get to take it back since they cannot live more than 80yrs old?
Govt again earning money from this?

This letter was very well written. To know if LHL is a good or bad leader, we shall see how he response to this letter.
But i doubt he will take up the challenge. Perhaps he will just hide behind his father and let his father settle this.
LHL, prove it to us that you are someone who can really lead us and not after our money. Most of us played our part as good citizens and pay taxes. If not, would you be able to draw million dollar salary p.a?
George Bush have done so much shit and gets only USD$400K p.a. You did nothing but get alot more than him! Show us that you're really worth the $3.7M salary!

Using ERP to reduce cars on the road is not effective at all! See, everyday, theres alot of drivers drive into CBD area to work. And its not possible for them to take alternative route to their work place to escape the ERP gantry. Even if theres alternative route, LTA will find out and build an ERP gantry on the alternative route.
So, its like die die must go through the ERP. And you can't ask them to take public transport if they are company's key appointment holders. Time is money and they are busy people.
So, ERP is more of forcing the people to pay and pay.
If really want to reduce traffic, build more roads, more expressway lor.
